RVCA and no dog drawings

Have become pretty obsessed with this AMAZING vest by the collaboration of Erin Wasson with RVCA, that it's become the Holy Grail for me to get it. http://www.fashiontoast.com/2008/08/erin-wasson-x-rvca.html
Even if I was able to get it, Im very unsure of the fit in the, er, boobies. Obviously a bra is out of the question, and I am considerably more well endowed than the Rumi or Erin, which is a big problem in this case.

So out comes the old sketchbook for me to obsess over it! Since I dont have models immediately at my disposal, I brought my old figure sketchbook, and have been recycling poses. I do occasionally cheat and look at a magazine for hand positions though. (anatomy isnt a strong suit of mine)

Brokeback New Years

Bottom, watching No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain(Ive become so addicted), drawings of Stella, I swear she provides the best damn gestures. If only I could learn how to draw

So I've been abit unmotivated as of late, my general activity consisting of walking the puppy and eating.
Since I was unable to do anything fun for New Years (stuck in Dallas) I decide to finally take a hit at movies I had been needing to see. Rented Capote, The Virgin Suicides, and Brokeback Mountain

Capote I was alittle disappointed in, because though it was superbly acted (Hoffman of course, and Keener can always steal a show-see her in Being John Malkovich) and was an interesting study into a very troubled man, I felt it overall dragged. Perhaps it was less the movie's fault than my own, but I had a harm time being completely engrossed in it.

The Virgin Suicides, Sofia Coppola's debut movie. It's always interesting to see a great director's early work. It was surprisingly funny, ultimately sad, and an interesting commentary on young females and their role/s in society.

I was completely blown away by Brokeback Mountain. Probably one of the most beautiful and timeless movies I have ever seen. Certainly the most believable telling of "star crossed" lovers plot. Usually I find those types fanciful and melodramatic. While there certainly is drama in the movie, everything is portrayed in such a sensitive and masterful way, you really do believe in their passion, and you can relate to power of passion.

moving on to the art, nothing particuarly good as come out lately, but after watching Brokeback Im inspired to start drawing figures in motion, and with actual gestures rather than simply posing.
Gonna go ahead and use the rest of my sketchbook paper, Cat Power is being too damn inspiring for me to resist.
